Why do I have to take this class? – Low or No SAT or ACT scores – High School Deficiency in Math – Scored between 32 and 39 on COMPASS Entrance Exam What will this class do for me? – Improve your skills in intermediate algebra Topics: Rational expressions, Radical expressions, Linear equations, graphing, and Quadratic equations – Begin to prepare you for MATH 1001 or MATH 1111
F.A.Q.S. What if I don’t pass MATH 0099? – PASS: Earn C or better in course & earn 40 + on COMPASS Exit Exam – Required to repeat course* When do I take the COMPASS Exit Exam? – End of the term (August 1, 2012, time TBD) – Must bring photo ID for test – May use calculator (some restrictions apply)
F.A.Q.S. Does this count in my grade point average (GPA)? – NO! – Do show on transcript – May affect eligibility for Financial Aid from HOPE or Pell Grants
