Making the case for e-learning What OfSTED see and say Using the language and the Common Inspection Framework to coach the contribution of e-learning Defining e-learning in terms of pedagogy Deciding what it is that e-learning uniquely (or almost so) brings to the educational table. We use the language of pedagogy not technology to explain the contribution Using language and presenting supporting evidence that is based on e-learning in particular What is Impact Finding the Evidence Not so easy with personalised learning No impact = no judgement. Good intentions and plans don’t count. Report it by it’s impact

What OfSTED says - The Common Inspection Framework 1.A set of Numbers 2.A Summary 3.How to improve, or, (if Grade 2) how to be outstanding 4.Outcomes for Learners 5.The quality of Teaching 6.Observations of areas looked at 7.Leadership and Management They provide….

How should we evaluate technology? The changing ways of evaluating e- learning

The three Technologies we use Learning technologies Technology used to develop and present knowledge and understanding, to reflect against and to develop a digital identity and reputation All three should figure strongly in your narratives. The technology used in a particular profession or vocation Vocation Technology Technology of the wider World Preparing people for the digital world as active citizens, socially connected, e-safe, wise, mature technology users. (See Digital Literacy). Includes the technology the college uses in its organisation. Includes social media.
