Giant African Snails

what are they? Giant African Snails are really big snails that come from Africa.

what do they look like? Giant African Snails look like other snails but they are really BIG. Their shells can grow up to 20cm long – that is longer than your pencil.

what do they eat? Giant African Snails eat fruit, vegetables and plants. yum

why are they a pest? Giant African Snails eat lots of food because they are big. They eat more food than the snails in your garden.

why are they a pest? Giant African Snails occur in plagues. This means that there are lots and lots of snails eating crops.

where is it found? Giant African Snails can be found in lots of places but it isn’t in Australia. We hope it never gets here.
