The truth- when is it OK to lie “I’m 20 years of age” By Dawson and Jack

Define truth : Truth is when you are completely honest with someone and is opposite to lying.

Why do people and societies value truth and honesty? People and societies value honesty and truth because communities can’t exist unless people are honest with each other. When trust is built it is very valuable and can be lost with one lie.

Your best friend has just bought some new shoes. They ask your opinion – you hate the shoes and think they are ugly. Are you prepared to lie to your friend? Explain. If it was my best of friends I would come straight out and tell them that I think that they are ugly. This is because I think that they would respect my decision and wouldn’t care. If it was just my friend and I think that I could hurt their feelings then I would say that they look good.

What did Kant believe about the truth? Do you agree with his philosophy? Kant believed that ‘Every lie is an untruth, but not every untruth is a lie’ …… Yes I agree with his philosophy. Immanuel Kant.

Read the quotes above. Search for a quote (quotes truth) that sums up your philosophy on the truth, “The truth. It is a beautiful and terrible thing, and should be treated with caution.” – J.K.Rowling
