Capsize Activities Is everybody OK ? –The Scot floats even when capsized Go to the centerboard immediately –Protect yourself when the boat rights itself Otherwise, free main sheets, etc. first –Main sail ‘sea anchor’, misplaced crew, … Occupy and bail boat as buoyancy allows
Before you Capsize Does you crew know what to do? Can all of your crew swim? Do you have anything on board that absolutely, positively cannot get wet ? … or lost ? (Keys, wallet, … etc.) Always sail with ‘a little’ centerboard Good news … the Scot Floats!! … stay with the boat until help arrives
