Charger Time WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 4

Schedule for the week  Basketball Tryouts: Girls in the morning at 6:30, Boys after school at 3:00.  New Quarter = Fresh new start!!!  Pep Rally Friday

For today:  8 th Grade Locker clean out! 7 th grade organize and clean out your locker! Teachers please check and verify lockers cleaned out.  Other grades: Organize and clean out binders, update important dates on planners  Important dates to consider:  Thanksgiving break 25 th to 27 th  Christmas break 21 st to January 1 st.  Last day to purchase yearbooks December 18 th  January 14 th end of 2 nd quarter

Goal Setting  In your planner or the organization device of your choice make 4 new goals for the new quarter. (three academic, one life goal of your choosing-social, physical, personal etc.)  Review s.m.a.r.t goal setting Specific= What will this look and be like? Measurable= How can I measure if I am achieving? Actionable= What steps does it take to achieve this? Relevant or realistic= Is this goal really doable? Time= How much time will it take to achieve this goal **Optional= Watch the video on setting smart goals

Popcorn rules review game  Have students right down as many rules questions as they can in 5 minutes. Examples= When can cell phones be used in the building? What do I do if I feel someone is bullying me? What are the three school wide expectations?  Get a rolled up piece of paper or something soft.  Teacher starts out by throwing the object to someone in the room and asking a rule review question to the person that catches it.  If the person gets it right they can throw object to someone else in the room and ask a question of there choosing. If they get it wrong they have to write 10 more questions or start on homework or read.  Game can continue as long as is needed.  Students not paying attention automatically out of the game if they are not prepared when object is thrown at them
