To support your child to feel more confident and comfortable transitioning in to School, Pre School or Nursery, visit the children’s centre activities. Offer your child the opportunity to practice what they already know and to learn new skills in preparation for school. It is a good opportunity for you to talk to staff about any concerns you have about your child’s learning and development. Groups are planned to the Foundation Stage Curriculum (like in nursery and reception) and focus particularly on the ‘3 Prime areas of learning ’: Communication and Language, Physical and Personal, Social and Emotional Development. Workshops will run in these sessions including : Toilet Learning. Behaviour. Learning through play and accident prevention. Oral Health. PAFT 12 week Programme for Harrow parents. Sign up at reception. The 12 week programme requires a commitment from the parent to attend all sessions; once all sessions have been completed you will receive a certificate of attendance. The programme is run by PAFT trained staff. PAFT is a support programme based on the latest neuroscience research and supports the truths that parents are the most influential teachers of their children, and the early years lay the foundation for a child’s success in school and in life. Days of PAFT focus sessions will vary based on the needs of the group attending and staff availability. These sessions cover all areas of the EYFS.
