What is Animation?  Incredible varied art form  Can be used in different mediums like television, video games etc.  Different types and techniques like 2D animation, 3D animation, etc. are available.  Different tools are used in creating perfect animations.  Used in almost every sector – whether marketing or product development.

Common Types & Techniques Below are some common types and techniques which are very popular in the animation industry.  Traditional Animation  Cut Out Animation  Stop Motion Animation  Computer Animation

Traditional Animation Also known as drawn or classical animation. Created by drawing the individual scenes and combining them. Time consuming process Different techniques like rotoscoping, Japanese form anime are related with this type of animation. In today’s world, this type of animation has been digitalized by the use of computers.

Cut Out Animation It is a type of 2D animation that utilizes flat, cut out objects. Scenes are created by moving objects slightly and then photographing them. Faster and easier than traditional animation. In today’s world, computer is used to manipulate the cutouts to create the images. Source:

Stop Motion Animation Use basic concepts of traditional animation to 3D objects. Small scenes are filmed by making slight changes in the objects. Combining these films makes it appear as if the characters are moving. Clay animation is a sub type of this technique. A degree of versatility and creativity is present. Source:

Computer Animation 3D Animation is a type of computer animation. It uses flash animation and motion capture techniques to make the object look three dimensional. Computer animation is also used to digitize 2D animation techniques in a fast manner. It is a fast, efficient, and time saving technique. Source:
