Cross Cutting Issues – Good Governance Each project is overseen by an FO Project Manager and in turn both Project Managers are overseen by the FO Progamme Manager who also reports to the FO Steering Committee. At the same time, financial issues are monitored by a team of FO accountants who work closely with both the FO Project and Programme Managers to check project financials as reported by the project promoters and an independent team of Auditors will be conducting financial audits on both projects after their final reports have been submitted. FO requests frequent and detailed updates on the governance processes of each project promoter as well as the interactions and relationships between project promoters and their project partners. FO produced administrative and financial handbook and reporting templates and guidelines. FO frequently meets with both promoters and their partners to ensure good governance of projects

Cross Cutting Issues – Sustainable Development Neutral effect on the environment as the activities are not closely linked to environmental concerns. Renovation of Frourarhio is positive to the urban environment (including issues of urban cleanliness). Vouchers instead of food baskets with predetermined items is conducive to reduction of waste as each family - beneficiary purchases exactly what they need, when they need it - food waste is minimized. Several project activities can be funded after programme funding ends by either EU/structural funds or private donors and the success of the programme as well as the existence of a physical focal point (in Frourahio) for services offering act as drivers for potential economic sustainability of the projects (although at present the continuation of the projects is not guaranteed). Socially all programme components have been extremely well received by both beneficiary communities as well as stakeholders and the overall acceptance level of the need and delivery methods is such that it is expected that both NGO and local government stakeholders will seek ways to continue the services offering after the programme ends.

Cross Cutting Issues – Gender Equality Both the FO as well as the Project promoters have gender equality policies in place and this is evident in the large percentage of high level project staff who are women (one of the two FO project Managers, one Promoter has appointed a woman as project manager, several partners have women as project component managers etc.), furthermore, components of the projects themselves are conducive to gender equality (day care centre etc.).
