 Point of View and Historical Frame of Reference

Think About Museums  What do museum displays look like?  How do museums tell you about their art and exhibits?  Write a quick response to answer these questions.

What does it mean to be an American? Write a quick response or list to answer this question.

“Our Country”  Listen to the song and follow along with the lyrics handout.  Now listen again and chart the text with our symbols.  While we discuss, fill our the chart to explain the song’s point of view and historical frame of reference.

On your own  List 10 things you have in common with the others in your group.  List 10 common events you have all lived through.  List 10 things unique to you.

What are Point of View and Historical Frame of Reference?  In your groups, write your own definitions for point of view and historical frame of reference.
