A Prayer for Strengths

Tender Lord, our God, source of our Hope,

Grant all of us - our students, and we adults who work with them, strength as we wait with anticipation of Your coming. Allow us to appreciate the beauty and excellence that is the world You have created.

Help us realize that:

Through bravery and perseverance, we can face the challenge of adversity; Our spirituality can maintain our perspective.

Through teamwork and leadership, we can support each other; Our love for all can assist in our judgement.

Through humour and kindness, we can bring joy to the people around us; Our zest for life will energize our social intelligence to make all feel welcome and valuable.

Through our creativity and curiosity, we can always find new solutions; Our love of learning can help us approach problems courageously and honestly.

Through self-regulation, we can peacefully offer forgiveness to others and to ourselves; Our sense of fairness and our prudence allows us to see Christ in all who we encounter.

In gratitude and faithful humility, we thank you for giving us tools and traits that can be developed in each of us as we grow ever closer to the model you gave to us in Your Son, Jesus Christ.

As we hail His advent, we pray in His name. Amen.
