 Snow Leopard feet act as snow shoes  Their tails are long as their body for balance on the steep mountain terrain and also for warmth from the cold environment.  Snow leopards become nocturnal animals when humans enter its territory to avoid unnecessary contact that may threaten or endanger themselves

 Overhunting of the Snow Leopard’s prey, causes lack of the food for the animal and then they do not get the nutrition they need causing the possibility of its death.  Snow leopards are hunted for their beautiful fur and also there are used for traditional Chinese medicine  Habitat loss is also a main cause because Snow Leopards are shy animals who need a large area to survive and because of deforestation more Snow Leopards are being affected then ever.

 Yes we can, firstly stop buying items that have or use snow leopard fur. This causes less demand for the poachers to fulfill and more snow leopards are kept alive.  Discourage the practice of tradition Chinese medicine that use snow leopard bones.  Donate to foundations that try to save the snow leopards. Much of the donations is spent on educating the locals about the species and what to do when encountered.

 The collapse of the food chain will occur in the Himalayans if the Snow Leopards goes extinct. Starting with the overpopulation of the Snow Leopards prey which are all herbivores following with the lack of vegetation for the growing population of herbivores. Finally the population of herbivores will start depleting like the vegetation.
