Empowered in Your Spirit by His Spirit (Ephesians 3:14-21) In Ephesians 3:16, Paul prays that the Ephesians might “be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man.” The Holy Spirit dwells in us and strengthens us through the inspired word of God. When we allow the Spirit-given word to dwell in us and strengthen us, our inner man is altered so that God is glorified in our lives, we are used effectively in His work, and we find our true purpose for living. The Holy Spirit thus empowers us in PRAYING, EVANGELIZING and BECOMING MORE CHRIST-LIKE!

The Holy Spirit and the Word Inspired men received the word directly from the Holy Spirit and spoke that word to men. (1 Corinthians 2:12-13) When we hear and believe the inspired word, we are sealed with the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13) This is one way we are filled with the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 5:18; 2 Cor. 13:14; Hebrews 6:4-5)

The Holy Spirit Alters our spirits through the Power of the Word God is glorified by our Spirit-guided devotion. (1 Peter 4:14) God can use us effectively in His work. (Acts 6:3) We have a purpose for living. (1 Cor. 6:19-20) We must allow the Spirit-given word to change us entirely, so that God’s power may work in us freely. (Eph. 3:17; 1 Thess. 5:19)

The Holy Spirit Empowers us in Several Areas We are empowered in PRAYER (Jude 20-21; Philippians 1:19) We are empowered in EVANGELISM (Acts 4:31; 11:24) We are empowered to be more CHRIST-LI KE (2 Corinthians 3:18)
