Suggestions… if I may be so bold…  Ask, don’t tell  Make sure the know that you are proud  Let them fail  Don’t use empty threats  Make sure they understand expectations and that rules/consequences are clear  Monitor their social media, set limits  Pick your battles, let the small stuff go, but don’t avoid the big stuff  Let them know you care  Be honest with them, establish trust  Be empathetic, not sympathetic  Listen to them, don’t interrupt or give advice, just listen  Spend Time  Admit your own shortcomings  Allow them choices  Follow their rules
