Sole Trader or Limited Company? The Aquatic Commons is a thematic digital repository covering the natural marine, estuarine /brackish and fresh water environments.
Aquatic Commons Aims Facilitate sharing of information and knowledge on the science and management of aquatic environments Enable the use and validation of research results Empower managers and resource users to publish their findings Provide free and Open Access to information Ensure equal participation and coverage of the literature from developing and developed countries Avoid costly and wasteful duplication of effort Ensure the preservation of information and its availability for future generations
Aquatic Commons Initiative was introduced to the ASFA Board and IAMSLIC Aquatic Commons Implementation Task Force – initial report & passed on Iamslic members vote IAMSLIC signed the contract for the development of an Eprints based repository with the Florida Center for Library Automation
Aquatic Commons repository is built on version 3 of EPrints. live in August & deposits begin in September AVANO out of IFREMER is designated as the official harvester for AQ. Google and OAIster also harvest records & it is registered with ROAR and OpenDOAR 6 ASFA Board allocates $28,000 dollars to help build digital collections.
