Planning Process Every project proposed has to be approved by the KRG council of minister before implementation. The plans are divided to: Short planning (annual) Medium planning (5 years) Long planning (15 years)

An Example: housing planning as a model The ministry put a medium project planning for the housing for 5 years. One of the plans is for Erbil city to construct 50,000 houses within 5 years (10,000 houses/year, depending on the information) City population: 1,500,000 Average Family Size: 6.5 members. Area of each flat: 100-150 sq m. Two Persons Share One Bedroom and One Bathroom. Rate of renting houses: 60%. contain (sitting room, kitchen and other facilities)
