“Train Up a Child!” Proverbs 22:1-6

… Not a matter of pick and choose, or weeding out the real from the fantasy. We accept what the Bible says…

Duke of Wellington “The thing that impressed me most about America is the way the parents obey their children.”

“Train up a child in the way that he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6)

Purpose: to better realize the truth behind Proverbs 22:6

IA CONDITION is Given

And by “protect them” we mean train them up in the way they should go!

IA CONDITION is Given A.Train Up a Child

At issue is the this: Do we really take God at His word?!

Each child has strengths and weaknesses and it’s up to the parents to learn what they are and help each child understand them…

Is this what we want our young people (kids and grandkids) to long for? Do we have “heavenly goals” in mind for them?...

Our kids will never have the wisdom and power to make right decisions UNLESS THEY KNOW GOD!

Proverbs 22:15 “Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child; the rod of discipline will remove it far from him.”

IA CONDITION is Given A.Train Up a Child B.The Way He/She Should Go

May this be our passion. Train a child to walk in the way of God, understanding each child individually…

IIA RESULT is Promised

A.Parents Must be Stern Disciplinarians

We found no delight in having to spank our kids… but we loved them too much…

IIA RESULT is Promised A.Parents Must be Stern Disciplinarians B.Parents Must be Tender Too

Try a little tenderness. Always tell you kids you love them…

IIA RESULT is Promised A.Parents Must be Stern Disciplinarians B.Parents Must be Tender Too C.Parents Must Find a Happy Medium
