IAABO Refresher What to expect How to decipher (read) it

IAABO Refresher What to expect The question will give you facts and ask you to understand other facts.

IAABO Refresher Question states: Dribbler A1 We understand player control and team control of a live ball on the floor inbounds.

IAABO Refresher Question states: Dribbler A1 in the front court passes to a3 We understand there is no player control, team A has team control, the ball is in the front court

IAABO Refresher Question states: Dribbler A1 in the front court passes to a3, but A3 muffs the pass which is deflected by b3 We understand there is team control by A, ball is in front court, last touched by B3

IAABO Refresher Question states: Dribbler A1 in the front court passes to a3, but A3 muffs the pass which is deflected by b3 into a’s backcourt We understand that A has team control, the ball is in A’s backcourt, when the ball first gets backcourt status A will have 10 seconds to get front court status, B3 is last to touch ball in A’s frontcourt.

READ THE ENTIRE QUESTION –What are they TELLING you? –What are they ASKING you? Airborne A1 is fouled by B1 during a field goal try. After the ball is in flight, A1 illegally contacts B2 in returning to the floor. The ball goes through the basket. A2 should be awarded 2 free throws. T or F ? IAABO QUESTIONS REFRESHER

What is the Question? A1 while airborne, catches a live ball while trying to prevent it from going out-of- bounds. A1 throws the ball to the floor inbounds, returns to the court, recovers the ball and starts dribbling. Official rules this a double dribble. Is the official correct?

Let’s list the facts Airborne----catches ball Throws ball inbounds to floor Returns (re-establishes) to court Recovers the ball-??? Dribbles Official calls double dribble

Is the official correct First clue double dribble Where is the first dribble? Does the first dribble end? Yes? Official is correct!

Question #2 A1 is fouled as the first half ends, and the scorer fails to notify the official that Team A is in bonus. The second half starts with a Team A throw-in, and A4 scores. The error is now recognized. Official awards A1 the bonus, has players occupy the lane spaces, ands plays off the make or miss. Official is correct.

CORRECTABLE ERROR WHAT IS THE TIMELINE? No later than 1 st dead ball following clock starting Point of interruption? No change of team possession Merited Ft--- play the result!
