Children’s Discovery Center Balloon Ride

At the Children’s Discovery Center, I can act like I am riding in a balloon. The balloon will rock back and forth.

This is an activity for fun and learning. The balloon moves but it will not really fly into the sky. It is safe.

I can walk into the basket and stand in it.

A sign says no more than 4 people can be in the balloon basket at once. I can get in by myself or with someone I know.

The basket is very thick and strong.

When I look up, I can see metal parts. I see some fans and lights.

I can push the button to start the balloon ride activity.

I can look outside of the basket. I can see pictures on screens.

I can hear a man’s voice on a speaker. It talks about things a person might see on a balloon ride over Louisiana.

Sometimes the fans above me will blow air. Sometimes the lights will flash like lightning. This is a pretend rain storm. This is okay. I can stay in or get out.

The balloon ride moves. It has fans blowing and lights flashing. This is to make me feel like the balloon is flying. [click picture to see video]

The Balloon Ride at the Children’s Discovery Center is an interesting activity.
