Singles Celebration Sunday March 23, 2014
A Season By Myself Before I Involve Someone Else! Message Thesis: We should marry to share happiness not to find it. Message Objective: To show the preparation needed for a healthy and successful relationship. 3 John 2, 1 Thessalonians 5:23
Our Text: 3 John 2 “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”
Our Text: 1 Thessalonians 5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Who is single? A person who is not married. A person who is divorced. A person who is not in a serious relationship. ***Separated people are not single!
Myths About Being Single: 1.Single people are less happy than married people. 2.Single people favor solitude. 3.Single people are self centered. 4.Single people waste money. 5.Single people want to be single.
We need a season by ourselves to first become whole: Spiritually Mentally Physically Social/Emotionally Financially
Points: What single and married people both need: We each need to develop a relationship with God. We each need a season of building self worth. We each need to develop the tools needed to make relationships work. We each must work on our bodies. We all need to get our finances in order.
Celebration: When we are whole first: we can be single and satisfied. we can expect to live a John 10:10 life. We can experience healthy relationships with others. we can experience a higher degree of marital success when we enter holy matrimony.
