sketch book design Expectations

Idea Generating Use journaling to create ideas. Using words expands ideas, allows you to collaborate with peers and transfer thought to paper. This should be a visual thing. Decorate, expand, color, doddle, cut and paste.

Inspiration from other artist Inspiration can be drawn from other artist. Their ideas need to be expanded on and developed into you ideas.

Thumbnails Here is where you explore ideas. Small sketches to explore designs. Sometimes it is nice to use words to show your thinking, and remind you of topics when it is time to confer.

Clarify the design Here you move from the general to specific. It’s time to pic a design. Note helps.

Media Here you try out media, color schemes or styles. These may be on sample surfaces. Sample pictures of other artist using that style would be helpful.

Reference images The design and creation of the idea is art. Copying a photo is not creating art, but using photo as reference to enhance your design is some times needed. These can come from many directions to fill the need of the final work. Photos you have taken, real samples, or sketches you have created from life or imagination. Drawings you have created Photos you have taken
