Your budget needs to include certain information:  What money left in the account will be spent on next year  Proposed membership fee  Expected membership numbers  Core activities of the Society, what you plan to do over the coming year and the costs of these activities BUDGETS

UCSU Society bank account  To facilitate core and social activities of the Society: Administrative costs, affiliations, speakers fees/travel expenses, conferences/meetings, equipment purchase/hire/maintenance, clothing, food and drink, trips abroad, accommodation, membership fees, social events, personal clothing, transport, tickets BUDGETS

 Memberships  Activities/Events  Sponsorship/Grants FUNDRAISING FOR YOUR SOCIETY

 Create a sponsorship proposal  Create a thank you letter SPONSORSHIP EXERCISE

 Societies Federation Grants Criteria:  Fully established Society  Active  Delivering aims and objectives  Attended required meetings and planning sessions SU FINANCE APPLYING FOR MONEY

 Must only be used to deliver an activity within the aims of the Society  Must only be used for the purposes that were outlined within the application  Cannot be donated to a charity  Cannot be used for social activities SU FINANCE SPENDING MONEY

 There are 2 ways in which you can spend money from the Society account:  Direct from the account or  Pay cash and get reimbursed SU FINANCE SPENDING MONEY
