Energy & Greenhouse Management  Objective : To achieve a continual improvement in energy conservation  Target : To reduce absolute energy consumption and greenhouse gas emission levels to 10% below the base line year (2002) by 2008

Water Conservation  Objective: To achieve continual improvement in water conservation  Target : Reduce consumption levels by 10% by 2008 based on 2002 consumption

Waste Management  Objective : To achieve best practice in recycling & waste management  Target Reduction of waste going to landfill by70% ( from 2002 levels) by 2008

Biodiversity  Objective :To manage biodiversity in an ecologically appropriate manner in consultation with the university community  Target : Develop & implement a biodiversity management plan

Pollution Prevention & Environmental Risk Management  Objective : to continually improve pollution prevention actions and to achieve best practice in environmental management in line with the ACT EPA

Transport  Objective : to positively contribute to addressing University-related aspects of the sustainable urban transport issues for Canberra  Targets :  Increase the efficiency of the University car fleet  Reduce the environmental impact of the university’s community commuting

Community Awareness  Objective :To promote corporate and community awareness of environmental issues  Target : Increase the number of people/areas considering environmental impact of decisions

Environmental Management  Objective :To promote corporate and community use of ANUgreen as an internal environmental consulting unit within the campus  Target : to develop a cross institutional approach to environmental management. All major areas within the ANU to have developed an EMS by 2008
