Graffiti a collection of topical graffiti. kelly friskics

I came across this first photo while looking around online. I think it’s a clever play on the two words. The artistic quality is not necessarily in the graphics, but in the message of the artist’s view of the government.

This is from Brooklyn, found at this link.link

This is a great piece on the inefficacy of the media. I think the imagery is both nostalgic and forceful. This work allows the viewer to draw from the benefit of hindsight, and apply it to the present, posing the question: if war was spun before…could it happen again?

Found at the Street Art Workers’ Site: link link

I enjoyed this piece because it seems delicate. I love the way this street artist incorporates real objects into his paintings. I think this is a great reflection on the balance between natural and manmade, organic and mechanical.

Work by Banksy (UK). Found at his site: linklink

I had to put this piece in my collection because I think it is a great symbol of our current political climate. It could be seen as a political endorsement, or a protest against the misconceptions of what the poor really want. I love the witty play on words, and the creative layout that makes me realize how often we pass problems like poverty as if they were just an image in the background.

Based on the site that I found this, I assume it is somewhere in the Pacific NW. link link

This work is where the former U.S. Embassy was in Iran. It is has a compelling impact the moment you see it. This is painted on a wall outside of where the hostage crisis took place almost 30 years ago. I chose this because the emotions it evokes are so powerful.
