NORWAY

 Norway is a country in the far north of Europe.  Some people think that Norway is a town in Sweden...

OIL AND GAS  Norway has large oil and gas resources in the North Sea.  These resources have made Norway one of the richest countries in the world.

EASTERN NORWAY  In Eastern Norway are the counties of Telemark, Buskerud, Hedmark, Oppland, Akershus, Oslo, Vestfold and Østfold.  Region Eastern Norway is coloured red on the map.

DISTRICT OF RÆLINGEN  Rælingen is a rural district with pop. 16,420  The capital of Norway, Oslo, is just a short 20 min drive away  Our nearest city, Lillestrøm, is just five min away

THE RIVER GLOMMA  Glomma is the longest river in Norway.  Glomma runs through Sør- Trøndelag, Hedmark, Akershus and Østfold.

NORTHERN ØYEREN  Glomma runs into Øyeren.  Northern Øyeren is a large nature reserve in Rælingen and surrounding areas  The nature reserve is the largest inland delta in Norway

ÅMOTDAMMEN  Åmotdammen is a lake in the Østmarka.  Åmotdammen is a popular area for fishing and outdoor activities, and there are many places for swimming around the lake.  We have many school activities around this lake

STRØMMEN SHOPPING MALL  Our closest town centre is Strømmen.  There one finds the largest shopping mall in Norway.

SANDBEKKEN UNGDOMSSKOLE  Sandbekken is one of the two middle schools in Rælingen with 310 pupils aged and a staff of 35.  Built in 1975 and renovated in 2003, the school has a 25m pool and large sports hall, a beach volleyball pitch and a skating ramp
