Car Hire Project By James W 8B

Charges Dodgy Car Hire$100 a day flat rate Unlimited kilometres Rip Off Car Hire$40 flat fee + 40¢ per km Risky Car Hire$0 flat fee and $2 per km Quotes from 3 car hire companies Task Find out which company to use for which distances

Task Outline  Write out the algebraic fomula for each company using: C=cost, K=kilometres  Construct a table in Excel  Construct graphs in Graphmatica  Prepare a report in Power Point

The Formulae Dodgy Car Hire$100 a day flat rate C=100 Rip Off Car Hire$40 flat fee + 40¢ per km C=0.4k+40 Risky Car Hire$0 flat fee and $2 per km C=2k

Excel Spreadsheet Using the formulae, we are able to construct the cost from each company in an Excel spreadsheet This provides a comparison of costs

The Graphs  Using Graphmatica we were able to produce a graphical interpretation  We then copied and pasted this into this Powerpoint presentation  Added animations and important information

(25,50) (150,100) Dodgy: C=100 Rip Off: C=0.4k+40 Risky: C=2k Kilometres Cost 40
