Woodie Flowers Award Purpose of award: To honor an adult team member who has provided the FRC team with a good understanding of challenges and opportunities through engineering and design. Specific judging criteria are based on the team’s description of how the mentor inspired each member of the team in some or all of the following ways: – Level of student participation –Effort in creativity –Clear explanation of and enthusiasm for math, scientific, and engineering concepts –Demonstration of enthusiasm for science and engineering –Encourages teamwork –Inspiration to use problem-solving skills and communicate effectively To apply: Essays are submitted online. Three subcategories: –Website Excellence – Website meets FIRST Website Standards of Excellence. –Regional Best Website - One award will be given at each Regional Competition. –Championship Best Website – One award will be chosen from among the Regional Best. Website award winners. A team does not have to attend Championship to be considered for this award. To apply: Submit a website link. Deadline: Approximately 2 weeks before your regional competition.

Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers Entrepreneurship Award Purpose of award: To recognize a team which has developed framework through a comprehensive business plan to obtain team objectives. Selected team will: Display entrepreneurial enthusiasm and the vital business skills for a self- sustaining program. To apply: Develop and provide a formal business plan to the judges during the pit interview process. Teams should be prepared to talk about their plan at that time. Deadline: Date of your regional competition
