Timeline of the History of Video Production By: Jonathan McDonald

The First Fact  One of the first motion picture that we all know was made in (1889) by Thomas Edison. But it is shown that there were different designs that were never appreciated. Like the Magic Lantern, it was a early version of a slide projector. 

The Second Fact  Throughout most of the 19 th century they used the Idea of rapid moving pictures. They didn’t think of using continuous live action until 1872.This guy named Edward Muybridge was hired by the California Governor Leland Stanford to win a bet. 

The Third Fact  Another of the first animation machines is the Praxinoscope. It was patented in 1877 and was carried out by Frenchman Emile Reynaud. 

The Fourth Fact  The Praxinoscope was shaped like a drum and spun to show the moving picture. 

The Fifth Fact  In 1872 the Praxinoscope was taken and turned into theatrical entertainment. It was presented to the public by Reynaud. He also remade it were it had continuous picture. 

The Six Fact  On May 11,1888 the Eastman patents Kodak roll-film camera. 

The Seventh Fact  In 1889 Thomas Edison and W.K. Dickson made a device called the Kinetoscope. It had a peep-hole in on it where the light shown through. Then the light was pointed at the moving pictures and made a moving picture. 

The Eighth Fact  Two French brothers, Louis and August Lumiere had patented a combination of a movie camera and a projector.That is able to be seen by many people. 

The Ninth Fact  In 1905 Cooper Hewitt had some mercury lamps that made it possible to shoot a film indoors. 

The Tenth Fact  In 1922 Lee DeForrest demonstrated a method for recording sound on a film strip. 

The Eleventh Fact  In 1885 an American inventor called George Eastman introduced film made out of paper instead of glass. Then wound it on a roll. 

The Twelfth Fact  In 1975 the first digital camera was made. 

The Thirteenth Fact  In 1894 W.K.L Dickinson made a device called the Mutoscope. 

The Fourteenth Fact  In Contemporary Photography was made. 

The Fifteenth Fact  In 1880 it was the first time a camera was used for science. 

The Sixteenth Fact  In 1860 reporters started using cameras to record the happening that happened in the Civil War. 

The Seventeenth Fact  In 1950 the first colored video camera was made. 

The Eighteenth Fact  In 1996 Kodak had made and released the first pocked sized video camera. 

The Nineteenth Fact  In 1975 the first video camera was invented by Steven J. Sasson. 

The Twentieth Fact  In 1945 the first disposable cardboard camera was built by Photo-Pac. 
