Making End Meet in York Region A Community Model for Change (CMFC) Target Population –Low and moderate income residents struggling to make ends meet (households earning $78,000 or less annually). –This represents one-third of the Region’s population or approx. 364,000 residents. –Comparable with the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives Living Wage Study (2015) 2

Two Community Results Housing Affordability Community Result: Housing options that are affordable for everyone in our community 3 Progressive Employment Community Result: Progressive employment opportunities in a changing economy

Experience How do residents experience Housing Affordability? How do residents experience Progressive Employment? Through: A full range of affordable and safe housing options for residents of all income levels at every stage of life. Appropriate amount of money spent on housing. Options to live in the community of choice at all ages and stages of life. Shorter commute times and access to transportation and basic needs services. Income keeps pace with cost of living. Through: Opportunities to find and sustain employment related to their education, skill level and ability. Opportunities to access education/training and employment supports to enhance career progression and generate income at all stages of life Accessible and affordable supports including childcare and transportation. Income keeps pace with cost of living. 4
