The English teacher reads out the text twice to a student or a group of students. The students then answer the questions. Please read the details on the site.

LD Accommodations The students may ask the teacher to read out parts of the text if necessary. The students may NOT use an electronic dictionary. The teacher who reads out the text must be an English teacher. The teacher may give an additional 15 minutes if requested to all students, whether they are “kita mut’emet” or home room. Guidelines 2 Within this framework decide how you are going to enhance pupil performance by looking at individual needs Timetable Outcomes Materials Tasks Listening Reading Writing

Guidelines 3 According to these results, suggest strategies to improve the pupils' perception of English . How can the general inspector/ English inspectorate /school administration help you achieve your aims? What are your biggest challenges?

WHAT CAN I DO? Difficulties in understanding and answering Teachers should make sure their pupils are familiar with the variety of question types Teachers should teach their pupils the strategies they can use for answering questions

WHAT CAN I DO? Difficulties in reading comprehension Teachers need to put an emphasis on teaching/learning vocabulary including lexical chunks. Lexical items should be taught explicitly, recycled and used in different contexts. Teachers should provide pupils with many opportunities for reading a wide variety of texts independently. Use a wide variety of texts of different lengths, difficulty and text types

WHAT CAN I DO? Difficulties in writing Provide opportunities Use the words in the question Encourage free and guided writing Give tips to pupils how to check their writing Emphasize simple sentence structure Share the rubrics with the pupils Read instructions carefully

WHAT CAN I DO? Click here to access materials

Why is the Meitzav challenging? Hots questions Topics may be foreign Difficult vocabulary The length of the exam Invigilators- pupils are not used to “outside” people in the classroom Weak learners may be overwhelmed
