General information about the club – We are a nonprofit and essentially a volunteer organization in our 10 th year of operation. – Membership has increased every year (~80 to over 200 members). – Coaches, for all intents and purposes, DONATE THEIR TIME. – No one has ever drawn a salary from Great Bay and all coaches have been paid the same – Head and Assistants. – We do this because we love coaching and we love teaching. Board of Directors – Mike McDonnell – Dan Brodeur – Jenn Kuehl – Steve McEntire – Rick Veno Special Advisors to the board – Kristie Holtz – George Pendleton

Travel Team Expectations and Profile – Players who are looking for Exposure to College recruiters – Players who wish to elevate and expand their game – Players who HAVE TIME to commit to a travel schedule Will likely participate in New England Qualifiers and the Open League. Will travel to at least one travel/overnight tournament (Hartford, CT Winterfest 3 Days). Will likely travel to a tournament like Boston Could travel to the NEQ, USAV Nationals, or AAU Nationals – If your daughter is involved with multiple extracurricular activities, we do not recommend she accept a position on a travel team. – Coaches could approach players at tryouts or call/ them at home and will ask the player to check with parents about a position.

Open Option Teams – May travel to Out of Region (OOR) Tournaments and will likely play in New England Qualifiers (depends on acceptance). – Commitment is similar but not quite as taxing – Could travel to out of region tournaments if the coach believes they would be competitive and the experience would be beneficial – All OOR tournaments are an additional cost (above the team fee) – We will get consensus from the parents and act as your agent.

Club Teams – Less demanding on time by nature but demands from coaches about learning and attendance are the same. – More developmental and a longer learning process. – 5 Regular tournaments a year, generally no OOR Travel. – Occasionally we have Club teams earn their way into open.

Training Academy – An opportunity for players to improve without the commitment to team and travel – Divided loosely by age and skill (no strict parameters). – Very popular and successful – Developing each year with more emphasis on competition

Trying out for Multiple Clubs – We have led the way in supporting club choice Please look at our Club Affiliation Policy – We like what we do and we think we do it pretty well! – If you are choosing another club, all we ask is that you PLEASE let us know. – Our job is to let you know as soon as we can if your daughter has made a team.

Playing Time – Travel team is left strictly to the coach – however we believe everyone is there to play. If players are not making practices, they will certainly play less. – If players are not ready to play, we will try to preserve confidence. – Occasionally we take players in development (fully disclosed) on travel teams. – As levels and age groups decrease, we encourage more equal playing time but do not obligate our coaches to a specific priority (Common Sense being our best gauge).

Recruiting – Please do not ask us where your daughter should play – tell us what she wants to study and we will try to help match a college with her academic endeavors – Make no mistakes – WE ARE NOT a recruiting agency. We will do our best to create exposure but you are ultimately responsible for getting your daughter’s profile and image in front of college coaches. – We can do film on a limited basis and only if we have the resources (coaches have time). We are more likely to hand you the SD card! There are some great tools on the website and we will do our best to keep you informed of showcases and playdates.

Fees – Fees will increase slightly this year (posted on site). Small increase from The Rim in both practice and tournament fees. – Great Bay’s budget is based on Team Fees Once you are placed and accept a position on a team, you are obligated for the team fee. – We generally cannot handle refunds but do our best to be fair.

Continuing This Year – Payments Check, MC or Visa online Refunds of NERVA/USA fee are not possible (unfortunately). USAV is considering a “tryout fee” – Conditioning offerings from APC – Exeter Hospital See Flyer

Thank you! Questions?
