How many books? As the largest library in the world, the LOC contains approximately how many miles of bookshelves? How many items does the LOC receive each working day? Of those, how many are added to their collections? How many servers are used to archive the ever- growing array of digital content at the Library of Congress? Primary sources are the raw materials of history — original documents and objects which were created at the time under study. They are different from secondary sources, accounts or interpretations of events created by someone without firsthand experience.
