The Promise of Life

John 3: And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in him may have eternal life. [a]16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.a

John 3:36 36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.

John 5:24 24 Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.

John 10: I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand.

What is accomplished at belief ?

John 1:12 12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.

2 Cor. 5:17 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

2 Cor. 5:21 21 For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

Eph. 1:5 5 He predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will,

Col. 1:12 12 Giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.

Col. 2:10 10 And you are complete in him, who is the head of all rule and authority.

The work of the Holy Spirit

1 Cor. 12:13 13 For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, Jews or Greeks, slave or free, and all were made to drink of one Spirit.

Titus 3:5 5 He saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit,

Eph. 1:13 13 In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit,

Eph. 4:30 30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

1 Cor. 6:19,20 19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, 20 for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.

The Language of Security

1 Cor. 1:8 8 Who will sustain you to the end, guiltless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Phil. 1:6 6 And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

2 Tim 1:12 But I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed, and I am convinced that he is able to guard until that Day what has been entrusted to me.

2 Tim 4:18 18 The Lord will rescue me from every evil deed and bring me safely into his heavenly kingdom. To him be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

Hebrews 7:25 He is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.

1 Peter 1:4,5 4 To an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, 5 who by God's power are being guarded through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Jude Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy.
