Cows Adult females are generally called cows. Adult males are generally called bulls. There are well over 1 billion cattle in the world. Cows drink about a bathtub full of water and eat around 40 pounds of food a day Farmers use machines to milk more than 100 cows per hour.

Pigs Actually clean Male pigs of any age are called boars Female pigs are called sows. Farm-raised pigs eat commercially made diets consisting mostly of corn.

Chickens They’ll eat seeds and insects but also larger prey like small mice and lizards. With 25 billion chickens in the world, there are more of them than any other bird species. Baby chickens are chicks Female chickens are pullets until they’re old enough to lay eggs and become hens

Horses Horses can sleep both lying down and standing up. Horses are herbivores (plant eaters). Horses have bigger eyes than any other mammal that lives on land. A male horse is called a stallion. A female horse is called a mare. Ponies are small horses

Ducks Ducks are birds Ducks have webbed feet, designed for swimming. A duck waddles instead of walks because of its webbed feet. The duck's mouth is called a "bill".

Goats The female goat is called a “doe” or “nanny.” The male goat is called a “buck” or “billy A baby goat is called a “kid.” Goats do not have teeth in their upper front jaw.

Sheep There are over 1 billion sheep in the world. Adult female sheep are known as ewes. Adult male sheep are known as rams. Young sheep are called lambs. A group of sheep is known as a herd, flock or mob.

Dogs Puppies are born blind, deaf and without teeth have an excellent sense of smell A dog can smell about 100,000 times better than a human. The majority of a dog's sweat glands are between the pads on its paws. Dogs hear around ten times better than the average human.
