Who is the Pro Bono Counseling Project? As a unique Baltimore - based non - profit (1st of its type in the nation), the mission of The Pro Bono Counseling Project (PBCP) is to assure that all Maryland residents requesting mental health care, regardless of income, are linked with volunteer licensed mental health professionals and other necessary support services.

Who does Pro Bono Counseling Project reach out to? Programs: ~ Jean Steirn Cancer Program ~ Caring for the Caregivers ~ Parenting Alone: Helping Women to Build Healthy Families ~ Transition and Depression: Elderly and Underserved ~ Victims of Violence ~ Private Counseling for Public Service: Military Program

Referral Process… Step 1: Initial Intake & Financial Info Step 2: Find Clinician in Database Step 3: Clinician accepts case Step 4: Client calls clinician to set up first appointment Step 5: Client and Clinician begin to meet

Limitations… ∞ Court ∞ Violence ∞ Chronic mental illness ∞ Alcohol or substance abuse related problems

How does Pro Bono provide these services? Funding o Foundations o Government (State and Federal) o Personal Contributions o Fundraising Volunteers o Over 1300 volunteers throughout the state of Maryland that volunteer a minimum of an hour a week.

Remember  Services are FREE to those who meet financial eligibility  There are no waiting lists (from the time a client calls, the referral process takes about a week to 8 days)
