What is a research report? Copying permitted A research report shares facts and details about a topic.

How is writing a report like a treasure hunt? Start the hunt by choosing a topic. Go searching for interesting facts and details. Ask questions to find clues to more information. Put all the information together for your report. Copying permitted

Where can I go to find information? books and periodicals in your school library encyclopedias, dictionaries, and other reference materials the internet Copying permitted

What are some types of reference materials? dictionary - gives definitions to words encyclopedia - contains articles on topics thesaurus - gives synonyms, or different words that mean the same thing

What are the parts of a research report? beginning - introduces the topic middle - gives important information about the topic end - shares one final idea about the topic Copying permitted

What is an interview? An interview is when you ask a person questions about your topic. Choose a person who knows a lot about the topic. Ask questions and write down the answers. Copying permitted

Dachshund Dogs Dachshunds are a breed of dog. They are short and can weigh between 10 and 25 pounds. They can be black, brown, or mixed colors. They can have short hair, long hair, or wire hair. The encyclopedia says that “dachshund” means “badger dog” in German. That’s because they were bred to hunt badgers. Dachshunds are very international dogs. Copying permitted
