CHRISTMAS EVE We decorate the Christmas tree with baubles and strings of paper. We eat traditional supper of twelve meals, give each other presents under the Christmas tree. back
CHRISTMAS DAY We go to church for midnight man. In Christian tradition it is a feast commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ back
ST. STEPHEN’S DAY As on Christmas Day we go to church and we visit our families. back
NEW YEAR’S EVE This is last day of the calendar year. The day before New Year is called Sylvester. back
NEW YEAR’S DAY The New Year is the day that marks the beginning of a new calendar year. In Poland it is a day off from work. back

END OF WINTER HOLIDAYS This is a sad day for all children. This is the end of free time and the beginning of school duties. back
PALM SUNDAY We go with or families to Church and we bring colourful Palms there. back
BEGINNING OF WINTER HOLIDAYS 2 weeks of free time we can ski on snow, ice skate and hale fun throwing snow balls. back
EASTER MONDAY First, we go with or families to Church. Than, we usually take bottles or buckets with water and spill water or friends. back
LABOUR DAY This is a celebration during which people don't go to work and children don't go to school. back
CONSTITUTION OF 3TH MAY This is a big national holiday. People put Polish flags in front of their hoses. back
MOTHER'S DAY On the day our mothers get presents from children who want thank them for love and care. back
CHILDREN'S DAY Every child gets some presents from their parents or relatives. back
END OF SCHOOL YEAR Every year in June children go to school for the last time and start summer holiday. On that day children get school certificates. back
BEGINNING OF THE SCHOOL YEAR We start school and we get information about lesson plan. back
TEACHER’S DAY Pupils prepare a ceremony for teachers. Students give presents to teachers to thank them for their work. back
FRESHMEN PARTY Students prepare party for pupils from first classes. back
ALL SAINTS DAY People come to the graveyard, light candles and they pray for the dead members of their families. back
SCHOOL DAY Students prepare a ceremony about our patron – General Giza. We have a meeting with the general’s daughter who will tell us about her father. back
INDEPENDENCE DAY People hang out white-red flags (Poland flag). They celebrate independence day. it’s a day off at school and work. back
ST. ANDREW’S EVE PARTY At St Andrew’s Party students prepare party, it’s usually a disco. There’s a witch who does the tortune-telling and we melt wax into water to see what will happen next year. back
ST. NICOLAS DAY Parents give presents to their children at night. back
SCHOOL CHRISTMAS EVE Teachers prepare School Christmas Eve for pupils. Everyone eats beetroot soup and everyone sings carols. back
VALENTINES DAY Lovers in Poland send messages and presents to each other on this day. It happens on February 14th every year. back
WOMEN DAY The men buy women flovers and chocolates. They are giving their best wishes. back
SPRING DAY In our school, we take part in different competitions e.g. tug-og- war, karaoke. back
APRIL FOOL’S DAY People are doing tricks on themselves. It is the funniest day in the year. back
FINAL EXAMINATIONS GIMNASYIUM This is the last exam before pupils graduate school. back
GREAT THURSDAY People go to the church the solemn mass. back
GREAT FRIDAY People go to the church in the evening. They don't eat anything. It is the sad day. back
GREAT SATURDAY People go to the church with baskets filled up colourful eggs, chocolate rabbit, bread, cake. back
CORPUS CHRISTI AND FATHER’S DAY CORPUS CHRISTI: Catholics go to Church to worship Christ's body. On that day people don't work and shops are closed. FATHER’S DAY: On that day we give presents our fathers and spend time with them. back
