Today’s Goal: Using the writing prompt, you will create a rough draft based solely off what you know about prejudice. You will use examples from what you have learned about the past and what you have seen currently in the news, whether it be world or local, as well as what you have witnessed or experienced yourself. Since this is a rough draft, you will have time this quarter to gather more information, as well as learn new writing skills to make this a better essay. Today is solely to create a draft so you at least have a text to work with in the future.

Current Writing Focus: During this 12 minute time period, create a rough draft of an introduction. Remember what you have learned thus far about the parts of an introduction: hook, background, and thesis.
