 30-90% of palliative patients suffer with constipation at some stage of their illness  It is a distressing and uncomfortable symptom  Our literature review shows that constipation is poorly recognised and undertreated However……Can be very effectively managed Rationale

 To develop an online resource for patient and carers about recognising and managing constipation  To promote awareness of constipation in the palliative care population  To enable patients and carers to take an active role in prevention and management of constipation Aim

Reviewed literature and canvassed colleagues – this informed the content for the initiative Investigated different styles and presentation methods Consulted with a user group – Voices for Care Explored options to help facilitate our chosen method of delivery – Doodle animation Engaged with Ardmore Advertising and created the Story Board for the animation Approach
