Relative Humidity. Humidity  the measure of the amount of water in the air  high humidity =lots of moisture in the air.
Relative Humidity. Hot Air Warm air has more energy and more space between each molecule. Warm air has more energy and more space between each molecule.
HUMIDITY  Humidity is the amount of water vapor in the air. Water vapor is the gas phase of water and is invisible. Humidity indicates the likelihood.

Dew Point and Relative Humidity. What is Humidity? Humidity- the amount of water vapor (WV) in the air Relative Humidity- the % of WV in the air compared.
Dew Point The temperature that the air needs to be cooled to reach saturation (100% humidity) Cooling the air below the dew point causes the water vapor.

HUMIDITY BAD HAIR DAY

WHAT IS HUMIDITY? THE WATER VAPOR IN THE AIR (INVISIBLE)

WHAT IS SPECIFIC HUMIDITY? THE ACTUAL AMOUNT OF WATER VAPOR IN THE AIR. MEASURED IN GRAMS/METER 3

CAPACITY! CAPACITY IS HOW MUCH WATER VAPOR THE AIR CAN HOLD. WARM AIR CAN HOLD MORE VAPOR THAN COLD AIR!

EXAMPLES OF CAPACITY STADIUMCROWDCAPACITYHOW FULL? HHS2000 ÷2600=0.77 OR 77% CC2000 ÷3400=0.59 OR 59%

RELATIVE HUMIDITY A COMPARISON BETWEEN THE SPECIFIC HUMIDITY (ACTUAL AMOUNT OF VAPOR IN THE AIR) AND THE CAPACITY (HOW MUCH WATER VAPOR THE AIR CAN HOLD). %

EXAMPLES AIR AT A CERTAIN TEMPERATURE CAN HOLD 22 G OF VAPOR PER M³, BUT IT ACTUALLY ONLY HAS 11 G/M³. WHAT IS THE… SPECIFIC HUMIDITY? 11 G/M³ CAPACITY? 22 G/M³ RELATIVE HUMIDITY? 11 G/M³ ÷ 22 G/M³ = 50%

DEW POINT DEW POINT – THE TEMPERATURE AT WHICH 100% RELATIVE HUMIDITY IS REACHED (OR SATURATION).

TEMPERATURE AND HUMIDITY! WARMER AIR CAN HOLD MORE WATER! IF THERE IS THE SAME AMOUNT OF WATER VAPOR IN THE AIR THE WARMER AIR WILL HAVE A LOWER HUMIDITY, THE COLDER AIR A HIGHER HUMIDITY.
