Different Types of Abortion The type of abortion procedure used in elective pregnancy termination is primarily determined by how far a woman is into pregnancy. There is Medical and Surgical procedures, the medical are mostly done in the first trimester.

Induction Abortion, and Dilation & Extraction are done during the third trimester which are surgical procedures.
