Concept: Why did God give Moses the Ten Commandments?

Chapter 9 ~Lesson 2 If God’s people would live by the Ten Commandments, they would keep their covenant relationship with him. Moses received the 10 Commandments on Mt. Sinai. To seal the covenant, Moses set up an altar with 12 pillars representing the 12 tribes of Israel, the descendents of the 12 sons of Jacob. Moses sacrificed a young bull, and sprinkled the blood saying, “ This is the blood of the covenant which the Lord has made with you.”
