 Adopting 21 st century teaching approaches which will help the students to understand the benefits and importance of Discipline of Library Science.  The ultimate goal is to encourage students to develop a love for books and other reading materials and their preservation.

 To encourage good rapport building among students that would help them to interact freely  To develop critical thinking and an urge to identify problems and find solutions from different references and resources.  To make students use a variety of media other than books to acquire knowledge.  To develop collaborative and interactive student centered environment

 I will personally encourage students to visit the library in quest of new and different books  I will frequently inquire students about their learning habits and its impact on their personal lives.  I will ensure a congenial environment in the class where students can interact freely and work in groups and teams.

Topic: 1 How to Promote Reading Habits in Children Analyzing After learning this topic students will distinguished between those children who developed reading habits and who do not have this habit of reading. Show your observation through a checklist checklist Evaluating: Compare the results generated from a questionnaire and investigate the reasons why children are not prone towards reading? Creating: Student will be asked to propose and formulate a plan by a Project which will promote reading habits in children

Topic: 2Importance of Non Book Material in Library Analyzing Appraise the importance of non book material in library and outline the salient features of non book material in library. Evaluating : Tell why the non book material is important for all libraries and debate on the importance of it. Creating: Propose a particular type of a method for selecting and create a project for the improvement of library.

Topic: 3 Present Situation of Libraries in Pakistan Analyzing After acquiring knowledge students will construct a questionnaire on the present situation of libraries in Pakistan and write a report based on the answers received in response of their questions. Evaluating: Compare the libraries of Pakistan with India and Bangladesh and draw conclusions that why situation of Libraries in Pakistan is not meeting the needs and demands of people Creating: Devise suggestions for the improvement of present situation of libraries in Pakistan and send it to a news paper.

Challenges  The exam structure and pattern of our country does not fit to this modern approach.  Non availability of mediums like over head projector and multi media.  Absenteeism and low concentration of the students in the class Solutions  To introduce quizzes and research based assignments along with presentations and projects.  To convey this to the higher authorities  Students performance of the year should be included in the final exams.
