©Pilgrims on Purpose Pastora Fran Schmidt INTRO: WHY “exposure” trip? to experience to grow in awareness of God’s presence, active in the world to gain a sense of global and self-awareness, with opportunity to prayerfully reflect together on the realities of poverty, hunger, and systemic injustice to deepen faith understandings as we recognize God in our neighbour to receive hospitality and grow in humility to experience another culture and witness their realities to discover what accompaniment and solidarity could look like as a Christian response to mutually learn, grow and share with our global partners and offer ways to effectively support local communities to create global-minded citizenship while promoting Christian values
On the trip you will: Travel to Lima, Cusco, Machu Picchu (and possibly Iquitos) Possible overnight home stay Participate in a mission project Learn about the Peruvian history, traditions, culture and context Worship and prayer with local Lutheran congregations Explore historic El Centro, Inca ruins, and ancient burial grounds Visit CLWR supported projects (SEPEC and/or Diaconia), local NGO’s/artisan groups (micro-industry) Peru Mission Exposure Trip 2016 ©Pilgrims on Purpose Pastora Fran Schmidt
