LOOKING INSIDE THE EGG Fried egg

Crack the egg onto a plate and inspect it Look for the chalaza Find the thick albumen Find the thin albumen Do you think it is an old egg? Why?

Turn the pan onto medium heat Heat pan and add a small amount of butter

When pan is hot Slide the egg onto the pan

When edges turn white Cover the pan and lower the temperature

Cook to taste 4 minutes- runny yolk 5 minutes- medium yolk 6 minutes- hard yolk Want it over easy? Carefully flip egg after the edges turn white

Look at three eggs Determine who has the oldest egg- why do you think so? Look at the color of the yolk. Are any dark orange? If so that egg has more nutrition Eggs with light colored yolks have less vitamin A and come from chickens who eat grain instead of grass and bugs
