Achieving Sustainable Results Principal Power/Influence School Collaborative Teams Readings Video Clip – Michael Phelps
Leadership is the #2 factor, teaching is #1, in factors that impact student learning. High quality school leaders: chart a clear course, establish high expectations, and use data to track progress and performance. The Principal is the “instructional leader” who: allocates resources needed, leads the intervention team, and is responsible for accountability.
The Principal is the “leader of the process” who is responsible for: managing the curriculum so it is effective, leading the instruction in a manner that provides the students with the necessary skills, and integrating these three into a effective learning system for ALL students. The Principal is the LEADER of the process.
