GOD’S GUIDANCE (series ) GUIDANCE IN REAL LIFE MARK 4:35-41

“And on that day, when evening had come, He said to them, (the disciples), “Let us go over to the other side.” And leaving the multitude, they took Him along with them, just as He was, in the boat; and other boats were with Him. And there arose a fierce gale of wind, and the waves were breaking over the boat so much that the boat was already filling up.”

“And He Himself was in the stern, asleep on the cushion; and they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?” And being aroused, “He rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Hush, be still!” And the wind died down and it became perfectly calm. And He said to them, “Why are you so timid? How is it that you have not faith?” And they became very much afraid, and said to one another, “Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey Him.?” Mark 4:35-41

THE GUIDANCE FROM GOD GOD’S DIRECTION: “LET US GO OVER TO THE OTHER SIDE…” Mk. 4:35 THE OBEDIENCE TO GOD’S DIRECTION: “And…they took Him along with them just as He was, in the boat.” Mk. 4:36

TROUBLE! TROUBLE! TROUBLE! “AND THERE AROSE A FIERCE GALE OF WIND, AND THE WAVES WERE BREAKING OVER THE BOAT SO MUCH THAT THE BOAT WAS ALREADY FILLING UP.” MK. 4:37

THE RESPONSE: “LORD, DO YOU NOT CARE…?”

GOD’S ANSWER: “HUSH, BE STILL!” Mk. 4:39

AND JESUS SAID TO THEM: 1.WHAT’S YOUR PROBLEM? 2. WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR FAITH?

A QUESTION FOR EVERYONE: WHY DOES GOD ALLOW STORMS TO COME INTO OUR LIVES?

STORMOLOGY!

THE PURPOSE OF STORMS IN OUR LIVES: STORMS POINT OUR LIMITATIONS!

STORMS ARE GOD’S PROCESS TO HELP US GROW!

FIRST: KNOW WHAT GOD HAS SAID! “LET US GO OVER TO THE OTHER SIDE…”

SECOND: MAKE SURE WE ALWAYS ACKNOWLEDGE GOD’S PRESENCE! “LET US GO….”

THIRD: TURN OUR CIRCUMSTANCES OVER TO GOD EVEN BEFORE THEY GET BEYOND US! “TRUST IN THE LORD IN ALL YOUR WAYS” PROVERBS 3:5

FOURTH: LOOK FOR WHAT GOD WANTS TO DO IN OUR LIVES!

FIFTH: LOOK BACK AND SEE WHAT GOD HAS DONE FOR US AND TELL OTHERS ABOUT IT!
