B ’s Border states-the states between the north and the south that were divided over whether to stay Union and Confederacy. Isabella Baumfree- she was a abolitionist ! She fought for women's right ! Boycott-to refuse to buy items from a particular country

C ‘s Cash crop-Farm crop raised to be sold for money. John C. Calhoun- V ice president for Adams switched parties to run with Jackson. Constitution- a formal plan of government.

D’s Depression –a person of low economic. Daughters of liberty –the urged Americans to wear home made fabrics and produce other goods that available only from Britain before. Fredrick Douglass –he was born into to slavery.He was abolitionist after teaching himself how to read and write. He escaped from slavery in Maryland and then to New York.

E’s English Bill o right – guaranteeing certain basic right to all citizens. The document became part of the heritage of english law that the american colonists shared. Executive Branch –the branch of government, headed by the president that carries out laws and policies Enlightenment – movement during the 1700’s that spread the idea that knoqled,reason,and science could improve society.

F’s First amendment – “ RAPS” freedom of religion, speech, assembly, and press and rights of people to petition the government. Fortsumter-U.S fort on an island guarding Charleston Harbor Fugitive-runaway to trying to runaway.

H’s Nathan Hale-proved himself a hero at Long Island.A teacher from connectiut.He volueered to spy on British troops. Alexander Hamilton- ran against Aaron Burr in the election for governor. And won back up the constitution.

I’s Industry Revolution- the change from and agrarian society to one based on industry which began in GB and spread to the united States around 1800’s Import-to buy goods from foreign workers. Impressment-fouing people in service.

J’s Andrew Jackson-was the 16th president was from Tennessee ; was also a hero of the war John Jay- supreme court as chief of justice back up the courtiers. Judicial Branch-Court system of US the nations judicial power resides in one supreme court and any other lower federal court that congress might establish.

K’s Stephen Watts Kearny- about 1500 cavalry soldiers along the San Fe Trail from fort Leavenworth to New Mexico.
