Führungsseminar Report 2009  Wildland fires: –612 actions (1.368 actions: 2008) –~ 28 ha burned area  Forest fires: –218 actions (476 actions: 2008) –~ 22 ha burned area (most of them in the mountains)

Führungsseminar database  Basics: –Austria is a federal state with 9 provinces, 99 districts and municipalities (~ 8 Mio. inhabitants, ~ sq km) –4.567 fire brigades (99% voluntary) –Response time < 10 – 15 minutes  The database-mistake in the history: –1 wildland or forest fire  2 – 5 reports from the fire brigade

Führungsseminar Projekts  Create a new database in coorperation with the university of natural ressources and applied life sciences (institute of silviculture) –Online plattform with a form for all users (municipalities, farmers, fire brigade …) – Since 2009  Aim: have a good database for Austria and also for JRC
