Introduction I would like to become a carpenter because: –I always enjoyed helping my Dad with projects around the house. –I am also very good with my hands. –It has always been a dream of mine –I enjoy the outdoors –I have always had the desire to own my own business

Career/Job - Investigate Some of the work carpenters do may surprise you. –They work not only with wood but also with steel and aluminum. –They can be involved in doing woodwork for different buildings, bridges and skyscrapers. –You can work in commercial, residential, or industrial construction. –You can also do renovations

Career/Job - Investigate Opportunity to start your own business and work for yourself. The working conditions could vary. –You could work inside in homes or on construction sites

Costs The tuition for my program is $3,327/semester. The cost of books ranges from $500 to $2,000 per year. Residence is available to all students. It is an eight-story building with 2 bedroom suites. The suites have two bedrooms, a bathroom and a kitchen. The cost of residence is $5,652 per year. Typical Suite

Conclusion This project has helped me to determine what I require to become a carpenter I have gone to the Open House at Georgian College and I can’t wait to go there. The only thing that surprised me was how expensive it is to live in residence or even off campus. Questions?
